China Dairy Quality Report (2023) Officially Released
At the 14th China Dairy Industry Conference, the 2023 China Dairy D20 Summit, the China Dairy Industry Association released the China Dairy Quality Report (2023) and the Guidelines for Expanding and Improving the Quality of Dairy Product Consumption in China, in order to help the high-quality development of China's dairy industry. It is proposed that by 2025 and 2030, China's per capita milk consumption will exceed 45 kilograms and 50 kilograms respectively. In 2022, the national milk production of 40.265 million tons, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year; dairy products production exceeded 31.177 million tons, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year. The national raw milk sampling pass rate is 100%; the overall sampling pass rate of dairy products is 99.88%; the average value of milk protein, milk fat and total colony count sampling in raw milk reaches the level of developed countries in Europe and the United States dairy industry, and the average value of somatic cell sampling is better than the European Union standard; the sampling pass rate of melamine and other key monitoring prohibited additives is maintained at 100% for 14 consecutive years. In 2022, a comparative assessment of domestically produced milk and imported milk showed that the safety indicators of pasteurized milk, ultra-high temperature sterilized milk and infant formula complied with Chinese, U.S. and EU limited standards; Among them, the indicators of lactoferrin, beta-lactoglobulin and furosemide of domestic milk are better than those of imported similar products. It is mentioned in the Guidelines for “Expansion and Improvement of China's Dairy Consumption” that its main goals are: by 2025 and 2030, China's per capita consumption of milk will exceed 45 kilograms and 50 kilograms respectively, and the structure of dairy consumption will be more reasonable, with higher quality, better service, more advanced consumption concepts, increasing consumer confidence, more diversified consumption patterns, and becoming an important force in the international dairy market. Healthy China, dairy counterparts, positive response to the "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022)" initiative per person per day intake of 300-500 ml of liquid milk or equivalent dairy products. Six key tasks The Guidance on Expansion and Improvement of Dairy Product Consumption in China also specifically lists six key tasks: 1. Optimize the consumption structure of dairy products; 2. Expanding dairy product consumption groups; 3, cultivate new types of dairy products consumption; 4, revitalize dairy products consumption confidence; 5, integration of dairy products cultural tourism consumption; 6, enhance dairy consumption support. Xie Li'an, second-level inspector of the Department of Consumer Goods Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the meeting that efforts will be made to promote the healthy development of the dairy industry in three areas: First, continue to vigorously implement the "three products" special action, actively develop formula milk powder, cheese, cream and other products, enrich the variety of dairy products, to ensure the stability of the dairy supply chain, improve the quality and safety traceability system. Secondly, it will endeavor to promote the innovative development and green development of the dairy products industry.
