For products added with active strains, a minimum viable bacteria count requirement is set; basic requirements for standardized product labeling are added; the detection methods in the standard and the relevant referenced standards are updated simultaneously. The "New Standard" applies to two major categories of products: milk powder (whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, partially skimmed milk powder) and formulated milk powder. It stipulates the requirements for raw materials, sensory properties, physical and chemical indicators such as protein, fat, and reconstituted milk acidity, and microbiological limits for different types of milk powder and formulated milk powder. The requirements for pollutant limits, mycotoxin limits, pathogenic bacteria limits, and the use of food additives and nutritional fortifiers refer to general standards, and the requirements for label identification are clearly defined. This revision is conducive to further standardizing the healthy and orderly development of China's milk powder product market, especially the niche milk powder market, and better protecting the rights and interests of consumers.
