On January 10, 2025, the "Focus on the New National Standard, Lead the New Regulatory Path" Interpretation Conference of the New National Standard for Milk Powder was held at the headquarters of EASTBART GROUP. Many well-known media focused on the latest developments of EASTBART GROUP and the cutting-edge trends in the industry. At this press conference, Professor Ge Wupeng, the chief scientist of EASTBART GROUP , and Bai Hang, the chairman of the group, were present at the scene, bringing in-depth and informative sharing for consumers. In recent years, there have been frequent chaotic phenomena in the camel milk powder market. Problems such as the use of low-cost protein powder and solid beverages to make up the quantity, and passing them off as "pure" camel milk powder to reduce costs have emerged one after another. What's more, some products claim to be nutritious camel milk powder, but in fact, the camel milk content is minimal. Behind the rapid development of the specialty dairy animal milk powder industry, there are hidden risks caused by the lack of standards. To adapt to the diversified development trend of the dairy industry, China has revised and issued GB 19644-2024 "National Food Safety Standard - Milk Powder and Formulated Milk Powder". For the first time, milk powder products from specialty dairy animals such as yaks, camels, donkeys, and horses have been brought under national standard supervision. This standard will come into effect on February 8, 2025. The "New Standard" clearly states that formulated milk powder is a powdered product mainly made from a single variety of raw milk and/or its whole milk (or skimmed and partially skimmed milk) processed products, with one or more of other raw materials (excluding whole milk, skimmed milk, and partially skimmed milk of other varieties), food additives, and nutritional fortifiers added, and the milk solid content from the main raw material is not less than 70%. For products added with active strains, a minimum viable bacteria count requirement is set; basic requirements for standardized product labeling are added; the detection methods in the standard and the relevant referenced standards are updated simultaneously. The "New Standard" applies to two major categories of products: milk powder (whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, partially skimmed milk powder) and formulated milk powder. It stipulates the requirements for raw materials, sensory properties, physical and chemical indicators such as protein, fat, and reconstituted milk acidity, and microbiological limits for different types of milk powder and formulated milk powder. The requirements for pollutant limits, mycotoxin limits, pathogenic bacteria limits, and the use of food additives and nutritional fortifiers refer to general standards, and the requirements for label identification are clearly defined. This revision is conducive to further standardizing the healthy and orderly development of China's milk powder product market, especially the niche milk powder market, and better protecting the rights and interests of consumers. At the beginning of the press conference, the interpretation of the new GB19644 - 2024 national standard became the highlight. Compared with the old standard, the new standard has achieved key leaps in many aspects. In terms of milk source control, the old standard focused on basic hygiene indicators, while the new standard has set detailed criteria for the cow breeding environment and feed quality, tightening the quality valve from the source. At the nutritional component level, the new standard accurately quantifies the content range of key nutrients, enabling consumers to obtain more stable and precise nutritional supplements. Compared with local standards, the new standard has unified the "measurement standard" of the national dairy industry, avoiding market chaos caused by regional differences, and leading the industry integration with higher specifications and more universal norms. When talking about the significance of the new national standard for the scientific research sector of the dairy industry, Professor Ge Wupeng, the chief scientist of EASTBART GROUP , pointed out that this is a "favorable wind" for scientific research. In the past, the scattered research directions are now becoming more concentrated under the guidance of the new national standard, inspiring scientific research teams to dig deeper into core topics such as nutritional balance and quality preservation, and accelerating the transformation of scientific research results into actual productivity. For the camel milk industry, the new national standard is even more like an anchor. Previously, the standards in the camel milk market were inconsistent and chaotic. The implementation of the new national standard has provided clear specifications for camel milk production and testing, injecting trust capital into the industry and clearing obstacles to development. Bai Hang, the chairman of EASTBART GROUP , then shared the group's research and development progress of camel milk. In recent years, EASTBART has continuously increased its investment in camel milk research and development, formed an interdisciplinary elite team, and achieved phased breakthroughs in the deep processing of camel milk. Many innovative camel milk products are already on the schedule for listing. Looking ahead to the development plan for 2025, Bai Hang said that EASTBART will closely follow the new national standard, and carry out meticulous work in the whole process, from the expansion and upgrading of pastures, the commissioning of intelligent production workshops, to the expansion of sales channels and the improvement of brand reputation. The media Q&A session was very lively. In the face of the question of whether the new national standard has an impact on EASTBART, Bai Hang frankly stated that the new national standard is a major benefit for EASTBART. Because when EASTBART's new factory was put into production at the end of 2023, it was the first camel milk factory in Xinjiang to obtain a new local standard production license. Since the trial implementation of the new national standard in early February 2024, it has been strictly producing in accordance with the requirements of the new national standard. In fact, EASTBART has been implementing the new national standard for a year, so it has no impact on EASTBART. Its sales network actually started to popularize the new national standard among consumers in the fourth quarter of 2024, and consumers are also very much looking forward to the implementation of the new national standard. As for purchasing products under the new national standard, Bai Hang gave some useful tips: First, look at the label and identify the implementation code of the new national standard; second, check the ingredient list to ensure that the nutritional elements meet the standards; third, choose a brand, and give priority to established camel milk enterprises like EASTBART that actively embrace the new national standard. This press conference is not only a window for EASTBART GROUP to showcase its strength, but also a bold vow for it to lead the new "regulatory" path. Under the wave of the new national standard, China's camel milk industry is riding the waves forward, reshaping the industry quality, and the beautiful vision of allowing consumers to enjoy high-quality camel milk products is becoming increasingly clear and promising.
